New routes as Easyjet services to Basel, Switzerland and Tel Aviv from Manchester

Published on in Multi - News by

easyJet launches new routes and has others in the pipeline as Low cost airline easyJet has announced routes to a number of brand new destinations.

The new routes cater to all tastes, whether you are looking to escape to the sun, immerse yourself in one of the world’s most beautiful locations, or explore glacial landscapes.

The budget airline will now offer services to Antalya in Turkey, the Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos, as well as Iceland’s Reykjavik and Italy’s Venice.

“Our new 2017 schedule will appeal to our leisure passengers who are looking to travel with us on both city breaks and summer sun holidays,” said Ali Gayward, easyJet’s commercial manager.

“They’re destinations we’ve had a lot of requests for, so I’m sure they will prove popular.”

From February, the carrier is adding an extra plane to its fleet at Manchester Airport – where it established a base in 2008 – to help manage the extra routes.

The additional plane means that easyJet will now fly to 29 destinations and operate 264 flights from Manchester – thus creating in excess of 300 new jobs in the area.

As if launching multiple new routes and creating hundreds of jobs wasn’t enough, the budget airline has also recently announced it will instigate services to Basel, Switzerland and Tel Aviv from Manchester this autumn.

Tel Aviv and Albania

Israel may not be a country that jumps immediately to mind when you start planning your holiday, but Tel Aviv is a perfect vacation spot for the younger generation.

The city is liberal and laid-back and boasts a vibrant nightlife as well as the sun sea and sand package Brits desperately seek when booking a trip overseas.

For those wanting to squeeze a bit of culture into their stay, Jerusalem is just 80km up the road and is well worth a visit. With a history that stretches back 3,000 years, the ancient walled city cannot fail to impress.

Reykjavik and Albania

While many Brits will be desperate to escape the plunging climates in the UK, others may be willing to dive into even colder climes.

The world’s most northerly capital boasts geothermal pools, cosy cafés and cutting-edge clubs – framed by snow-capped mountains and volcanic surroundings. Iceland’s capital is truly remarkable and completely unique, and promises to be the trip of a lifetime.

If you are going on holiday this autumn or winter, it may be worth taking a prepaid travel money card, which is likely to reduce the overall cost of your holiday
