Optimum Card Review

Optimum prepaid card is not a credit card, which provides you with a line of credit, nor is it a debit card which is linked to a bank account.

This means that with Optimum prepaid card you can't go overdrawn or borrow money– you can only spend the money you have loaded onto it, so you stay in complete control of your money.

What is a restricted card?

A restricted card has a total spending limit of £1,600 per year (12 months starting from date of first Transaction) of which no more than £600 can be cash machine withdrawals.

You cannot top up your card using a debit or credit card. Maximum spending limit per single transaction is £600. Why would a card be restricted?

When you apply for your Optimum prepaid card we are required to undertake an identity check.

In some cases, Optimum prepaid may need a little more information from you before Optimum prepaid can give you an unrestricted card.

If this applies to you, Optimum prepaid will let you know when we send you your card and provide simple instructions on what you will need to do.
