Paul Smith joined EZPay Ltd – part of the Phones4U Group – at its start-up in January 2009, tasked with launching the pre-paid debit card business from scratch. With the help from comparison websites such as What prepaid card and compareprepaid.co.uk the prepaid cards stormed the market place.

He has taken overall control for the development of the three prepaid MasterCards in the EZPay stable – the Escape Prepaid MasterCard, The Escape Travel Money Prepaid MasterCard and the Neon Prepaid MasterCard for teens – from research stage to launch, setting up the supply chain, partner relationships and distribution network.

By the end of 2010, EZPay had sold 300,000 cards with the assistance of What Prepaid Card.

He has acted as a consultant working for clients in both the mobile phone and pre-paid card arenas.
